Haven't you heard? Love can be bought! Welcome to the Date Auction meme, where all the non-existent profit goes to your favorite non-existent charity.
HOW IT GOES
For those who haven't heard of a date auction, it's basically where qualified *~singles~* have a date auctioned off to the audience. Usually these dates have conditions, are mutually agreed upon, and just a cute way to raise money.
But this isn't usually; this is LJ.
As such, you're free to do whatever you please, within mun consent, with your bought date!
Post your character, and in the subject line (along with Character/Canon, if that's your thing) let other players know what you're looking for! Looking for Love, and cute shippy interactions? Looking for Laughs, and want to troll/be trolled? Looking for Lust and want to make this meme R-18? (Please mark your thread, if so!)
Not sure where to go on your date? Here are some options!
1• A lovely restaurant 2• A soothing spa 3• A fun carnival 4• A vibrant zoo 5• A quiet park |
6• A slammin' party 7• A popular concert 8• A crazy shopping trip 9• Screw the date, back to my place! 10• Or whatever you like! |
Choose your own, make something up, or leave it up to fate!
And, as always, feel free to take the concept and run with it! Is your character so pathetic they can't even buy a date, and have to hope for pity? Does a couple have to deal with the jealous aftermath of one person going along with the auction for fun? Does a scorned bidder try to ruin the winner's date? Or, heck, maybe you just want to play out the ridiculous bidding wars over much-desired characters!
Let it all hang loose, have fun, date !

I, ah - Quite. [He clears his throat again and tries to gather his thoughts. His thoughts, unfortunately, stray to how altogether miserable it would be to spend one's childhood in such a place. He himself, after all, had been reared in an estate more modest but not altogether dissimilar from this, and he knows how altogether cold such homes can be. He, of course, has to push that aside as well, because giving voice to thoughts like that would not only make him seem weak but would also be condescending and altogether unnecessary. The Earl did not need pity, particularly not pity given purely because his house was so grand.]
Why, then, return here?
TYPOS EVERYWHERE
Besides, they have plenty of time. Cain had made sure of it.]
I must remind the caretakers I exist, once in a while -- tangibly so, as opposed to some abstract notion of a faraway lord. To keep away entirely would be asking for mischief.
Besides, the largest part of my collection is kept here.
[He doesn't say which collection; but then surely, Edgeworth would have heard the rumors...?]
